MEDICAL OFFICE ADMINISTRATION
(Currently available at the Alexandria, Houma, Shreveport, and Gulfport campuses only)
The Diploma in Medical Office Administration program provides study of software applications, medical insurance and billing, medical office administration, as well as study of the medical science of the human body including anatomy, physiology and pathology of the body systems, and medical terminology. The diploma program prepares the graduate for a fast-paced position in medical office administration working in a doctor's office, hospital or clinic. The normal completion time for the day program is twelve (12) months and for the evening program, eighteen (18) months. Upon successful completion of 55-quarter credit hours and all other graduation requirements, the program culminates in the awarding of a Medical Office Administration Diploma.
